Part of a string of connected resorts and residential communities that run south from Torrevieja, La Zenia sits 40 minutes from Alicante airport and 20 minutes from Murcia airport.

La Zenia is famous for the largest shopping mall in the Alicante region, something that brings visitors back year after year. If you’re looking for a small and affordable Anglo-friendly life in the sun, La Zenia is the perfect location.

Great beaches are a feature of this area as well as, lots of excellent restaurants and bars as well as three golf courses in easy reach for the enthusiastic golfer.

Nestled 8.8 kilometres south of Torrevieja Cabo Roig, it offers white sandy beaches, with lifeguards and a plethora of quality leisure facilities for the numerous visitors.

If you enjoy watersports Cabo Roig is perfect, offering jet ski hire, paddle boarding and water skiing. Dining is split between outstanding quality fine dining and casual restaurants and lively bars and nightclubs along the strip.

Properties are large detached villas along the coast but if you go inland to neighbouring La Regia, there are a number of affordable townhouses, apartments and detached villas.

Having retained much of its traditional Spanish culture, this is a popular area for Spanish families to have a second home. It offers fine sandy beaches, abundant watersports and the haute cuisine Restaurante Los Angeles at the Puerto Deportivo Miguel Caballero marina.

Inland at Lomas de Campoamor is the championship Real Club de Golf, a world class 18-hole course along with a luxury hotel and fine dining restaurants.

Properties along the coast tend to be apartment complexes, while inland there are single storey villas.

Close to Alicante, Albufereta was once the harbour for the Roman area of Lucentum. It has a beautiful golden sandy beach; it has a quiet, relaxed vibe and is popular with locals in the summer months.

Properties near to the beach are apartments with stunning views, while houses are further inland and are bungalows or villas.

This village near Torrevieja is surrounded by turquoise salt lagoons and has retained much of its Spanish charm. The beach is Blue Flag approved and is relatively uncrowded and peaceful.

There is a long boardwalk of lively bars, restaurants and shops and if you want more hustle and bustle, Torrevieja is a few minutes down the road.

San Miguel de Salinas is around 7 miles from the coast, sitting on a hill giving panoramic views over the salt lakes of Torre La Mata and Torrevieja. It still has a very traditional Spanish atmosphere.

The town has several bars and restaurants and a weekly market and is close to some of the area’s championship golf courses.
